What hardy actually means here

We grow for Abbotsford winters: wet spells, drying wind, and summers that can go from flood to drought. A plant that is “hardy” in a catalogue may still fail on an exposed yard if it was grown somewhere milder—or somewhere much colder.

That is why we favour stock produced here in the Valley. It has already lived our seasons. We also match species to the site—wet corner, south wall, shelterbelt, or clay that never drains.

Ask us about zone, but also about deer, drainage, and how much you actually want to water in July. Honest placement beats a pretty tag.

New varieties come in every year. We trial them in our own rows before we sell them as ready for Abbotsford.
